What is Ebates?

You may have noticed that one way to enter my giveaway is to sign up for a company called Ebates.  So what is Ebates and why should you sign up? 

First of all, it is free to sign up.  It won't cost you anything at all....EVER!  In fact, when you DO sign up, they will give you a $5 credit to get you started. 

Then what?!  Well, nothing much...just shop.  If you are planning on spending money online, shop as you normally do, BUT before you pay for your order login to Ebates and search for the store you're shopping at.  Click on the link to that store (if it is available - most are).  Ebates will tell you what percent back they'll give you.  They may even have some suggested coupon codes that you can use on your order.

80%+15% off Restaurant.com Gift Certificates

Restaurant.com often has this great deal where they offer 80% off their gift certificates.  I have used them and loved them.  Just make sure you read the fine print so you know how much you have to spend in order to use them.  My favorite is to get the $25 gift certificates that say you have to spend $35 to use them.  Then you're only spending $10 in the restaurant (plus tips) for $35 of food. 

I like to do my online shopping through a company called Ebates.  Whenever I go to make a purchase from most online retailers, I go to the ebates website, login, and find the store I'm buying from.  They give me a percentage of cashback, so I can find a good deal and make it better! 

Here's the link to sign up: Ebates  When you sign up you can choose to get a gift card up to $20 to certain places or just $5 credit at Ebates.  Once you're signed up, enter restaurant.com in the search box and click on the link to "shop now".  You will get 15% credited to your account when you buy something through that link. 

Find the gift certificate you want to buy, and when you checkout make sure to use the code ENJOY to get your 80% discount. ($25 gift certificates will be $2 or $3 and $10 gift certificates will be $.80 - you'll get 15% off those prices credited to your account). 

In short, here's what you do:
1. Sign up for Ebates
2. Login and find restaurant.com
3. Click through and buy a gift certificate for 80% off by using code ENJOY (code expires 5/13/10)
4. Wait for Ebates to credit your account (it usually only takes a few days, but they say they have up to a month).  They'll e-mail you when they give you the credit.
