Making Money with Surveys

I like to do an occassional survey to make some extra money.  The key to making money with surveys is to be picky.  Don't do every survey that you get invited to do.  Decide how much your time is worth and only do the surveys that meet that requirement.  For example, I think it is a waste of my time to do any surveys that pay me $1 for 30 minutes of my time and I will not do them.  Sometimes you'll start a survey and you won't qualify.  That can be frustrating, but most sites will let you participate in an instant win game or enter you in a drawing even if you don't qualify.

Here are a few of my favorite (free to join) survey sites:

SurveySavvy -  I really like this survey company.  They don't send a TON of surveys, but they usually give me enough money for my time.  They also enter you in drawings for every survey you take and if you refer your friends, you get paid when THEY take surveys.

OpinionOutpost - Another of my very favorite companies is OpinionOutpost.  They are very consistent with paying you an appropriate amount of money for the time spent.  Your points are added immediately and you can request payment whenever you have 500 points or more (equal to $5).  It is an easy point conversion so you know exactly how much money you'll get.

SurveySpot - I get a lot of survey invitations from this site, but you have to watch them because they send a lot of invitations that are not worthwhile in my opinion.  It is still a reputable company and occassionally you can get really great deals like testing items and getting paid for it.

Toluna - This is a site that pays you with points...and it is a more difficult conversion.  60,000 points is equal to $20 which is what you have to earn before you can request payment.  Most surveys are 3000 points or less so it is harder to justify spending time for this company.  It is a reputable company.
